currently: regenerating

05.01

There’s something about spring that always asks for a version of myself I haven’t met yet.

I’ve been thinking a lot about supernovas lately — how stars collapse under their own pressure, explode, and scatter pieces of themselves across the universe. And somehow, from that destruction, new stars, planets, and forms of life emerge. Nothing returns the same. Everything regenerates differently.

That feeling became the foundation for this playlist.

currently: regenerating is a collection of songs orbiting transformation, softness, tension, movement, grief, sensuality, and return. Music that feels suspended between collapse and bloom. Sounds that remind me that rebuilding doesn’t always have to be loud or immediate. Sometimes regeneration is subtle. Cellular. Atmospheric.

There’s alternative r&b, dreamwave, downtempo, broken beat, soft club frequencies, and songs that feel like emotional residue glowing in the dark. Featuring artists and sounds that continue to shape me:
kelela, cocteau twins, quadron, heatwave, and more.

This is the soundtrack I made for the version of myself learning how to return brighter instead of smaller.

Welcome to spring.

Updated in real time over the duration of 3 months, I select songs that invoke this feeling of regeneration.
